Copyright Infringement in the UK has been gaining traction in the past couple of years over the provision of TV and Movie content by certain websites. Well the latest train Copyright Infringement has hopped on is the BSKYB to Access Blocked leaving every month and punishing those without a valid ticket. Tubeplus was picked up yesterday at about 7.35pm and taken to Access Blocked.

Ok i’ll stop with the metophors now. Tubeplus i must admit was my favourite site for TV series. I watched everything from Breaking Bad to Revenge and I do feel disheartened by the blockage but at the same time understand the reasons behind it. For those who don’t agree let me explain.

Producers and networks work together to create a TV series – in this case Breaking Bad. They will create a pilot which they hope in turn will generate interest, fan base and viewing stats. The network will then produce 6, 12 or 24 episodes and bankroll the series. To recoup on expenses the networks and producers will rely on advertisers purchasing add break slots, sponsors, DVD Sales and sometimes merchandising. If the networks don’t recoup you don’t get another series – simple.

It’s much like asking for a Supercharge Meal at KFC and walking out without paying for it…maybe not (I like my chicken)… Ok like taking the new Maserati Quattroporte S for a test drive and not returning it. (much better)…Sorry i did say i would stop with the metaphors.

Oh well off to Lovefilm and Netflix i go!!
